FCAS praises Musa for increasing aid to Chinese schools

Kota Kinabalu: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) praised Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman for increasing the amount of assistance funds for Chinese schools as well as non-Islamic religious bodies.

Its President, Datuk Sari Nuar, said ever since Musa took over the helm the amount for the schools and non-Islamic religious bodies in Sabah gradually increased from a mere RM3 million to RM42 million as demonstrated in next year's budget.

"This shows that under the able leadership of Datuk Seri Musa Aman, the State's financial position is strong, as it is only with a financially strong state that we can have more assistance. We sincerely hope such noble deed by the State Government will be continued," he said.

According to Sari, it was a happy day for 258 schools and 440 non-Islamic religious bodies in Sabah when Musa handed over the assistance totalling RM28 million to them at the State Assembly banquet hall recently.

When being interview by the News Strait Times, the Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman reminded the UMNO members to be committed to the party and steer clear of  back-stabbing and seeking  personal glory.

SABAH UMNO, which is sending the biggest contingent of 600 delegates to the party's annual general assembly on 29th November to December 3rd, has the largest membership of 450,000 members.

Expressing hope that the voices of Sabah UMNO delegates would be put in focus in the party assembly, Musa noted that many issues concerning  development, social, religion and politics would be put forward.

*It is important for UMNO members in Sabah to stop all the bickering and start to concentrate on the matters that will give benefits to party, since the 13th general election is around the corner and any dissatisfaction with one another will only going to jeopardize the party's chance to win a bigger margin. What the Chief Minister Musa Aman said is true, all members should unite in the spirit of the party and the coalition's  principle.

Sabah's Communal titles

Musa Aman & Masidi Manjun (Insight Sabah)

Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Musa Aman said that the government's move to issue communal
land titles is to ensure that the state's indigenous communities do not end up landless.

Sabah natives had the tendency to sell of land alienated to them, even the land is still at
the land application (LA) stage. The land eventually end up at the hand of outsiders.

Musa added that the issuance of communal land titles was aimed at ensuring that land
allocated to the indigenous communities could not be sold and later would be inherited by future
generations.

The state government had issued communal titles to villagers in Nabawan, Tonggod and
Tenom over the last two years.

*In my point of view, the state government effort in issuing the communal land titles to the landless
Sabahan is a brilliant decision. Apart from giving the deserved and landless Sabahan an
opportunities to actually own a land, they will have 0% of possibility to lose the land by selling it to others.
